Position Summary:

The Engineer at this level is responsible to perform a variety of safety engineering duties by applying basic engineering techniques and analysis within safety discipline, including the following activities:















To lead the Safety Engineering Discipline in the design development of a project.



To ensure Safety Engineering design integrity is not compromised while managing the Safety Engineering team in the execution of the project.



Makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization in meetings to resolve important questions or to negotiate with clients, key engineers and officials of other organizations



Develop the local personnel, by providing training under close supervision in the utilization of safety engineering theories and practices, and gaining exposure to Company procedures.



Gide and supervise the Safety Engineering team to develop the following deliverables:







Safety Concept



Dropped Object Study Report



Risk Assessment Report



Hazard Identification (HAZID) Report



Conduct Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) Workshop and Report



Conduct SIL Availability Workshop and Report



Hazard Analysis (HAZAN) Report



Calculation Notes for Fire Water and Foam Demand



Calculation Notes for Deluge Nozzle



ALARP/SFAIRP Assessment Evaluation Study



Calculation Notes for Overpressure Selected Key Manned Locations



SSIV Study Report



Reliability Study



Fire Zone, Restricted Area and Impacted Area / Drawing



Safety Equipments / Layout



Escape and Evacuation Route / Layout











Requirements

General Accountabilities

· Management - responsible for one or more loss prevention engineers.



· Reporting – weekly and monthly loss prevention progress reporting.



· Deliverables – production of qualitative and quantitative project deliverables on time and to budget.



· Tools – effective use of databases, reference materials and applicable software.



· Quality Assurance – responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the discipline.



· Safety – Responsible for personal safety and safe working practices for the discipline. Understand and follow HSE and OneWay procedures.







Other Skills

Essential Skills/Experience BSc Hons in Engineering or related degree, membership of a relevant Engineering Institution or similar. At least 10 years direct risk & safety experience in the oil and gas industry. Knowledge of International safety legislation. Presentation skills.
